Keywords: VCO, Millimeter-wave, Ultra-low power

Abstract: The thesis work focuses on adapting a millimeter-wave voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) architecture for new applications. The existing architecture will be adapted to four specific applications: high-frequency generation, low-noise generation, ultra-low power consumption, and optimal performance trade-offs. For each application, it will explore architectural limits, propose designs achieving maximal performance metrics (e.g., highest frequency, lowest noise, minimal power consumption, and best figure of merit), and develop corresponding circuits in B55x technology.
