Design of a piezoelectric micro-actuator with mechanical amplification for extra-auricular earphones

Abstract: The ActivMotion XtraSound extra-auricular headphones are an enhanced hearing solution which brings new benefits over existing mobile audio and communication solutions. It is a discreet ears and hands free solution that aims to be forgotten by its user. The perception of surrounding sounds and noises remains unchanged while adding the desired audio content.
The goal of the thesis is to miniaturize and optimize extra-auricular headphones by changing technology. Gains in dimension, performance and audio quality are expected.
